CB: Who are you in quarantine with?
PS: My Husband, 3 year old son, Hudson (3 years old, but just a few weeks shy of 4), and my niece (who decided to leave her apt in the city for a house with outdoor access).
CB: What is your quarantine story? PS: I've been working throughout this quarantine period, with a majority of meetings turning using Video Conference. My son has become a regular in my meetings, he's also become more imaginative to keep himself entertained. One creative outlet he frequently enjoys is building "forts/tents" using the coffee table. He always wants a little company, so I join him at times. Well, there was a moment when I have to present in a meeting AND he was extremely needy and demanded that I join him in the fort....well, my solution - DO BOTH. I climbed under the coffee table and still presented. I'm lucky to have amazing colleagues that simply laughed and understood my decision-making skills...lolol. :-) Forts are for adults too!
CB: What are 3 tips you would give to other Moms to help them during this time?
PS:
Let go of schedules. While it's great if your child can follow one, my 3 year is on a schedule of his own so rather than forcing him into a schedule (that even I have a hard time keeping up with) - i've taken the "go with the flow" approach.
Get creative with what you have! I've let him play in boxes, turned furniture to obstacle course, used plastic drinking cups as block builders - let their imagination run wild!
Seek quiet time! - I get up 3 hours earlier than I should just so I can enjoy a quiet, peaceful house all to myself.
